Welcome .... to the Volkswagenbus stop site. This site is focused on the Volkswagen bay window bus, but you´ll find a lot of other information about other air cooled Volkswagens.
I redesigned the site with new colors and I released the frames. It is easy to navigate with the the bar at top of each page. You can also swap to English and dutch language with the navigation bar !
Technical Questions. I am familiar with the T2 bus, as a previous ´74 bus owner I do have a lot of experience, but not always the right answer to your questions. Try first one of the newsgroups or subcribe to the type 2.com mailing list, you get always response to your questions. You also can search the database of type2.com for your mechanical questions. But feel free to mail me.
Please inform me when you find a death link THANKS...

What
is a Volkswagen bay window bus ?
It´s
a Volkswagen it was build from August 1967 to May
1979, Volkswagen Germany produced about 2,465,000
of this type II bus.The factory name is T2. The
splitscreen bus (1950 ~ 1967) factory´s name was
T1.
Why
the name Bay window bus ?
We
go back to the first Volkswagen bus the T1, the
splitscreen bus has the characteristic split in
the windscreen. The second type II Volkswagen
bus, the T2, has a "modern" wide
(bay)window screen. That´s why this bus is named
" bay window bus". There are more names of the air cooled
Volkswagen family on the VW name page
